Our 5th Gilbert & Sullivan Singalong
Continuing our popular series of Gilbert & Sullivan Singalong Events, we are pleased to announce our Fall 2026 Singalong, Ruddigore! This fan favourite is a spooky and hilarious take on the Gothic Romance genre, complete with singing ghosts, a mad scene, and a family curse!
We are grateful to welcome back our Orpheus in the Underworld Assistant Conductor Anna Theresa George and our Orpheus Collaborative Pianist Sarah Jenks as our music team for this next singalong! We are pleased to return to the cozy and atmospheric Upper Room (at Mrs. Murphy's. Get in the mood for Halloween with this spooky singalong event!

Great Lake Operetta’s 5th Gilbert & Sullivan Fundraising Singalong ~ Ruddigore!
When the night wind howls in the chimney cowls, join us in the event room at
Mrs. Murphy & Sons Irish Bistro to sing along with the timeless words and music of Gilbert & Sullivan!
Within the Gilbert & Sullivan fandom, there is a long tradition of unrehearsed, group “sing-outs” or “singalongs” (sometimes called QWERTYs) of works in the canon. Please join us in our second of what we hope will be many semi-regular G&S Singalongs! See below for all the details:
- The Singalong will be accompanied by a live pianist and will include all the music (except the overture) and all the dialogue!
- All attendees are welcome to sing along with the chorus sections (sing any voice part you want / you already know), led by our marvelous music director.
- Bring your own copy of the vocal score or your mobile device (to access the free digital score available online). See above for a link to a digital version of the score. Plus, QR codes for this digital version will be posted at the venue.
- Just want to eat and listen? Great! There's no requirement to sing...but you might not be able to stop yourself!
- While we expect you to eat, drink (and be merry!) during the singing, please respect those who are singing by keeping voices (and devices) quiet during the singing and dialogue. We'll take a break between Acts I and II.
- Tickets are available in advance and at the door.
- Check out Mrs. Murphy & Sons' website for info about navigating to the venue. The venue is accessible by public transportation and there is street parking.
- Dress is casual, but show-related costume pieces (pirate hats, fairy wings, crowns, Tower Warder uniforms, aesthetic garb, or what have you) are encouraged!
